Carnival Inspired

I am so excited for tomorrow because I am going to the carnival!!!! So today I decided to do a carnival themed manicure, one inspired by the colors you see there. Here is how it turned out:

  • Base Color: Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow
  • Striping colors: Jordana Purple Punch, OPI Bling Dynasty, OPI Red My Fortune Cookie, Beauty Treats Striper Royal Blue, Milani Nail Art Black Sketch
P.S. I got the "striping" idea from the blog: Lacquer Files,
She recently did a really cool striping tutorial.

Sally Hansen: Wet Cement

Today I have a gorgeous grey creme, Wet Cement. The formula on this was normal... not anything special. The drying time was surprisingly fast though. This is my first and only grey color is my collection, and I must say that surprisingly, I really like it. I think it looks really flattering.

I also wanted to mention that don't get the X-Treme Wears with the funky shaped cap. The brushes on those are awful and they wiggle and they are super skinny. Get the regular shaped ones lol. The brushes are super awesome... ^_^

What's your favorite shade of grey?

Emerald City and an update

So first of all I just wanted to say thank you to all of my followers, right now I have 19!! I am so grateful:)
I also wanted to thank you guys for commenting on my posts, it really makes me happy :)
Also, I am super sorry that I haven't been posting anything this past week. My computer has been acting up so we had to have it fixed. :(
Anyway, I have another swatch for you today, and this time it is Emerald City, also by Sally Hansen:
Sunlight

Shade

Shimmer

I love it!! Emerald city is the most perfect emerald green you could ever think of. And the little micro shimmer makes it even more perfect!! Plus, to top it off, the application was great and was opaque in 2 coats, not bad for being only $2.50 :)

Peace Sign Nails

This evening I was video chatting with my bestie. She wanted me to do her nails next week, and I had an idea for a multi-colored heart design. Anyway, as I was looking through my polishes to try and find a good color combo, I found OPI's Dim Sum Plum. I have never used it before so I swatched it on my hand. I liked it so much that I did my other hand.. and then all of the sudden I got an urge to draw on them with my new nail art pen! I decided to draw peace signs, and this is how it turned out:

  • Base Color: OPI Dim Sum Plum
  • Sally Hansen Black Nail Art Pen

*The reason why my hand looks awkward holding the bottle is because my Dim Sum Plum is the miniature kind, I got it in the Tiny Takeout box... also, the topcoat is the miniature kind too

DIY Dotting Tool

Where I live, you can't find dotting tools in the stores, you can only buy them online. Today I am going to show you how to make your own dotting tool by using 2 things that you can find around your house, so let's get started.
Here are the supplies you need:

Ok, so all you do is stick the strait pin through the pencil's eraser and VIOLA! You have a dotting tool, it is that easy :)

* I got the idea from Cutepolish on Youtube
