Halloween Nail Art Series 2011 Recap

Hi! Here is a recap of all my 2011 Halloween posts :)

~

These are definitely "out of the box" Halloween mani's haha. I didn't want every manicure to be black and orange.

For details such as what colors/plates I used, click the photos, it will redirect you to it's original blog post.

I hope you all enjoyed my Halloween series. The holidays are just around the corner so maybe I'll do a holiday series. Let me know!

Thank you so much for reading and be sure to let me know your thoughts on the series! :)

Happy Halloween!

Zoya Kelly Returns!

I recently tried Kelly again, and unlike last time, I loved it! It was so chic and so flattering against my skintone. It also made a great base for stamping... I just... love it so much. Anyway, I used it as a base color for my ghost mani and I loved it so much with the silver that I had to do a full mani with it. For some reason I wanted to stamp a houndstooth design so that's what I did! :)

It's a little bit more... silvery than I wanted, I was hoping for some more Kelly, but I love it nonetheless!

Let me know what you think!

Halloween Nail Art Series: Witch Nails

This is my take on witch inspired nails(:

Alright so there is a lot going on here. The rainbow background is supposed to represent a witches brew, which is filled with a bunch of random things. Hence, the different colors. And just for fun I added some glitter. Afterwards, I just stamped on a little witch hat(: Even though these are super strange, I couldn't be more happy with the way they turned out! :)

I started off with two coats of Zoya Shawn and then sponged on Who The Shrek Are You and Bettina #27 on opposite sides. Then I added blue to the corner of the purple, and orange to the corners of the green. Afterwards I added a thin coat of a green glitter by Sinful Colors.

In other news, this is the last entry in my Halloween series 2011 :( I'll have a recap post later this week so you can see all the manicures included in this series in one place. I had a blast working on this fun series and hopefully you all liked it :) Oh, and I did do a traditional Halloween gradient but it turned out kind of... bad, so I don't think you guys want to see it, haha. But if you do just let me know!

Thanks so much for reading and be sure to let me know what you think!

Halloween Nail Art Series: Creepy Vines

I saw (THIS) look by Rebecca Likes Nails the other day and I just knew I had to recreate it.

Ok, so I started off with with black nails and then sponged on green. Afterwards I stamped on some vines. I think this turned out great! I wish there was a bit more green, but I love the "creepy" effect.

Thanks so much for reading and be sure to let me know what you think! :)

Halloween Nail Art Series: Ghost Nails

Hi! So I have about 4 more Halloween manicures on my list so hopefully I will be able to do them all this week. As for today's nails, a Halloween series wouldn't be complete without ghost nails! :)

Ok, so today's ghost nails are pretty simple, haha. I wasn't feeling that creative today :( But, to add some depth and just because I love sponging, I sponged on a little bit of a blue and a little bit of a sheer silver. It's a little bit hard to see though.... oh well :P

Anyway, thank you so much for reading and be sure to let me know what you think! :)

Poll Results: Photo Question!

Hi! I have the results for you(: As you can see "large photos" was the winner. I also had three people comment on a post saying they like the bigger photos. Anyway, so a total of 21 people said yes to large photos, and 2 people said no.

Thanks so much for taking the time to vote! I really appreciate it!

Bettina Ocean+Floral Stamping

Your probably wondering what the heck happened to my nails and why are they so short. Well, I was watching the Pretty Little Liars Halloween special the other night, and when I have the same nail polish on for over 3 days, I start to fiddle with them. Especially when they are super long. Anyway, long story short, I chewed them. Ok I am going to stop talking now and just get to the photos.

So my best friend in the whole world (Keani) picked out the base color. I chose the stamp and the stamp color:) I am really liking this combo. What about you?? Also, please excuse my nasty cuticles :/

Thanks for reading!

xoxo

Be sure to get your vote in before 10/21/11. You can find the poll box to the right of this post or below my tab bar on the right.

Zoya Crystal Layering Combo+Stamping

Ok, so I discovered this awesome layering combo the other day but before I tell you what it is, I am going to quickly show you my NOTD :)

Ok, so the combo is layering Zoya Crystal over a navy or indigo color. For my Friday mani (I have Youth Night on Friday and I like to have my nails done for that) I wanted to use Crystal but for some reason I think it's a little too.... light(?) on it's own. So, to give it more depth, I layered it over Bettina Indigo. I am in love with this combo! This is two coats of both Crystal and Indigo.

In other news, my last post (my spooky meadow one) was accidently published too early (it didn't even have any photos yet) so in case you didn't see that, you can click (HERE). Also, I am experimenting with bigger pictures because my dad saw me looking at this one blog and he mentioned that he liked the size of her pictures. So be sure to let me know what you think! Big photos?? Or go back to my smaller ones??

Anyway, thanks so much for reading and be sure to let me know what you think! :)

Halloween Nail Art Series: Spooky Meadow

Hi everyone! So today's nails were inspired by Ihaveacupcake on youtube. She did a haunted house tutorial (which is awesome and you should check it out) but I was really inspired by the designs on her other fingers (and I already did haunted house nails which you can see HERE) so I decided to do a spooky meadow mani. Hope you like!

So my dad couldn't really figure out what these were at first, haha. Then after I explained to him he was  all like "ohhh! These are nice!" He also told me to tell you guys what each thing is... just in case. Ok, so the blue is supposed to represent the night sky, and the glitter represents the glittering stars. The shimmery orange (near the bottom) is just there so add some depth and contrast between the grass and the sky. The black stripes on the bottom is the grass from the meadow... or field. Whichever you prefer(: For the ring finger, I added a moon and a little bat(:

Anyways, I worked really hard on these (first time using a striper!) so I really hope you like it(:

  • Base Color (Sky): Bettina Indigo
  • Glitter (Stars): Finger Paints Sparkle Top Coat
  • Black (Grass): Milani Black Sketch Nail Art Striper
  • Orange Shimmer (Near Grass): Zoya Tanzy
  • Yellow (Moon): Bettina Yellow
  • Stamp Color: Konad Black Pearl

Halloween Nail Art Series: Candy Corn Bats!

Hi everyone! Another halloween post for you(:

So this was inspired by (THIS) post by Amy from I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous(: Hahha, well not much to say... I started out with striping each color horizontally and then stamped cute bats on it afterwards.

Anyways, thanks so much for reading! Be sure to let me know what you think:)

Halloween Nail Art Series: Haunted House Nails

Hi! Another Halloween manicure for you(: Ok, so these are supposed to be haunted house nails, but the house looks more like a church. Oh well, close enough :P

The original idea that I had in my head was an indigo base with some purple and glitter sponged on top to represent the sky and the stars, with a little green hill and the haunted house planted on top. Then I realized my nails are too tiny for that, haha.

After that failed, I thought about it for a while and decided to sponge a "simple" version of my idea. So the purple is supposed to represent the night sky, and it blends into a green which is supposed to be the grass. It's a little bit difficult to see in the pictures but the house is much more visible IRL.

Anyways, thanks so much for reading and be sure to let me know what you think!
